چکیده
The field of dentistry is rapidly shifting its focus toward biologically active restorative materials. Bioactive materials are those capable inducing and promoting the regeneration damaged tissue remineralizing demineralized dentinal structure as a vital dental pulp necessary for long-term healthy survival tooth. Vital therapy intends to protect prevail vitality which gets compromised when subjected mutilating factors like caries, trauma, operative or procedures. During therapy, said bioactive material initially forms non-irritant protective bridge over later stimulates pulpal odontoblasts produce reparative barrier protects underlying pulp’s vitality. tooth needs be intact protected because consensus reports that endodontically treated teeth, particularly molars, reportedly have reduced probability than teeth. [1] These factual arguments lead development This review article provide modern products introduced in category

Cytotoxicity and Biocompatibility of Direct and Indirect Pulp Capping Materials
There are several studies about the cytotoxic effects of dental materials in contact with the pulp tissue, such as calcium hydroxide (CH), adhesive systems, resin composite and glass ionomer cements. The aim of this review article was to summarize and discuss the cytotoxicity and biocompatibility of materials used for protection of the dentin-pulp complex, some components of resin composites an...
متن کاملRecent advances in pulp capping materials: an overview.
Emphasis has shifted from the "doomed" organ concept of an exposed pulp to one of hope and recovery. The era of vital-pulp therapy has been greatly enhanced with the introduction of various pulp capping materials. The aim of this article is to summarize and discuss about the various and newer pulp capping materials used for protection of the dentin-pulp complex.
متن کاملCurrent status of direct pulp-capping materials for permanent teeth.
Direct pulp-capping is a method for treating exposed vital pulp with dental material to facilitate the formation of reparative dentin and to maintain vital pulp. Two types of pulp-capping materials, calcium hydroxide and mineral trioxide aggregate, have been most commonly used in clinics, and an adhesive resin has been considered a promising capping material. However, until now, there has been ...
متن کاملThe incidence of pulp healing defects with direct capping materials.
PURPOSE To (1) study the injury and healing activity of the pulp tissue to calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2], resin composite (RC) and resin-modified glass-ionomer (RMGI) materials when used as direct pulp capping agents, and (2) compare the incidence of healing defects between these materials. METHODS 135 Class V pulp exposed cavities were prepared in non-human primate teeth. Direct pulp capping w...
متن کاملcomparison of calcium hydroxide and bioactive glass after direct pulp capping in primary teeth
objective: bioactive glass is often used as a filler material for repair of dental bone defects. in different studies osteogenic potential of this material was proved, but its dentinogenesis property is in doubt. the purpose of this study was to evaluate the histological pulp responses of calcium hydroxide and bioactive glass placed directly on exposed pulp tissues. materials and methods: twent...
